PROFILE
I am the Principal Consultant at Gavin Meredith Consulting.
My experience in health spans 22 years and includes clinical and management roles.
I have qualifications in Local Government, Project Management, the Redesign Methodology, Facilitation and workshop development, Lean Six Sigma and I am an accredited Accelerated Implementation Methodology Practitioner and Trainer.
Clinically I practiced as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Nurse Educator, Nursing Unit Manager and as a Nurse Manager.
In 2008 I moved to the Ministry of Health and held the position of Senior Project Officer for Surgery. During my time at the Ministry I worked on the Emergency Surgery Redesign Project (2009), the Surgery Futures Project (2010), the Rural Surgery Futures Project (2011) and the Newcastle Futures Project (2011). I also assisted the NSW Audit Office during their audit of Operating Theatres in NSW.
In 2012 I moved to the Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) to take up the position of Surgical Services Taskforce (SST) Manager. I held this role until February 2018.
During my time at the ACI I worked with the SST to develop the Operating Theatre Efficiency Guidelines (2014) and The Minimum Standards for Hip Fracture in the Elderly (2014).
I also worked with hospitals to implement the American College of Surgeons (ACS) National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) in NSW. The pilot has been very successful and will be expanding over the next 5 years.
